Project Summers Great and Small
Client Kate Spade New York
Installation — Paper sculpture
When Kate Spade commissioned me to create paper fires escapes for their North American flagship store windows on New York’s Madison Avenue, I had to pinch myself a lot to make sure it was really happening! Using my custom designs, I worked with local Toronto company Fare Made to laser cut each piece out of heavy black matte board. From there, I assembled and glued each section separately. They were then packed meticulously and shipped to New York. The 8 feet high, 2 feet wide and 10 inches deep installations lived on each side of the Madison Avenue windows through the heat of the summer. Kate Spade kindly wrote a piece about me on their blog that you can read here.
